Ford West Lends His Voice to ResponsibleAg
Industry Veteran to help Promote Fertilizer Retailer Safety and Stewardship through Participation
March 18, 2015
Washington, D.C. - The ResponsibleAg Board of Directors announced today that Ford West has agreed to join the organization as a spokesperson. West, who retired as the President of The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) in 2013, will assist ResponsibleAg Board members by speaking at industry conferences and, when directed by the board, conducting one-on-one outreach to prospective retailer participants and fertilizer industry supporters. West will work in close coordination with ResponsibleAg's Program Director.
"Promoting ResponsibleAg requires a team effort and we are thrilled that Ford has decided to step up to the plate and assist us," said ResponsibleAg Chairman Billy Pirkle of Crop Production Services. "The ResponsibleAg board has been pleased with the robust demand for ResponsibleAg representatives at industry meetings," continued Pirkle. "As we move into the busy summer meeting season, Ford's knowledge of the fertilizer business and established relationships with its leaders will lend yet another credible voice to this valuable compliance assistance initiative."
